Director, writer, auteur, Lars von Trier is known for his unique style of filmmaking: Dogville, Antichrist, and Melancholia. You see one of his movies and you know you’re in for something unlike most of the films flooding theaters. His new film, Nymphomaniac, looks to be right at home nestled inside von Trier’s filmography.
Nymphomaniac is the story of a self-diagnosed nympho, Joe (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg), who is found beaten in an alley by a man named Seligman (played by Stellan Skarsgard). As he dresses her wounds, she recounts 8 erotic stories from her past.
To promote the movie, the advertising people behind the film have released 14 new character posters. In each, a character shows us just what they might look like at the climax of their own erotic story. Click on the posters below to enlarge.
Nymphomaniac stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Willem Dafoe, Stacy Martin, Jamie Bell, Mia Goth, Jens Albinus, Nicolas Bro, Udo Kier, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Connie Nielsen, and Christian Slater. It is scheduled for release in Denmark on December 25, 2013. No release date for the United States as of yet.
